2026 Guide
8 min read · Updated May 2026
In 2026, a typical Arizona tub-to-shower conversion runs from about $9,500 for a complete two-day Safe Haven Showers Steady & Ready install (full tear-out, plumbing, marble-look composite walls, low-threshold pan, grab bar, frameless glass door, niche, clean-up) to $15,000 or more for fully customized builds with curbless entries, premium finishes, or roll-in accessibility features. Most West Valley installs land near the lower end.

Most Arizona tub-to-shower conversions in 2026 fall between roughly $9,500 and $15,000 for a complete two-day install. At Safe Haven Showers, our most popular package — Steady & Ready — starts at $9,500. That price includes the full tear-out, framing inspection and any mold remediation, fresh plumbing from floor to valve and shower head, a new low-threshold shower pan, 84-inch marble-look composite wall panels in your choice of finish, a 24-inch horizontal grab bar installed into solid blocking, a frameless tempered-glass door with chrome hardware, a built-in niche, and complete clean-up and debris haul-away.
Above that, custom builds are quoted individually. Curbless entries, fully tiled finishes, premium designer hardware (matte black, brushed gold), built-in fold-down seats, dual-control handheld systems, vertical grab bars at the entry, and ADA-style roll-in builds all add to the base price. Most of our Haven Custom builds in the West Valley land between $12,000 and $18,000 depending on what's selected.
Five factors swing the price more than anything else.
First is footprint and layout. A standard 60-inch alcove tub-to-shower conversion is the cheapest path; a wider build, a corner shower, or a curbless entry that requires re-sloping the subfloor adds work. Second is finish: standard composite walls are dramatically less expensive than full tile, and a frameless glass door costs more than a curtain track. Third is fixtures: a single fixed shower head is cheapest; a dual-control handheld plus rain head is a meaningful upgrade. Fourth is accessibility add-ons: an extra grab bar, a fold-down seat, or a curbless threshold each add labor and material. Fifth is anything we find behind the wall — old galvanized plumbing, soft framing, or hidden moisture damage — that needs to be addressed before we can install.
Most Arizona homeowners spread the cost of a walk-in shower over a senior-friendly monthly payment. We partner with Hearth — a financing marketplace that works specifically with home-improvement contractors — and you can prequalify in 60 seconds with no impact on your credit score. The marketplace shows you actual offers from multiple lenders so you can compare APR, term, and monthly payment before committing. Financing is 100% optional; many customers just use it to compare numbers before deciding to pay outright. We never bundle financing into the price; the install cost is the install cost.
Most Arizona tub-to-shower conversions complete in two days on site. Day one is demo: the old tub and surround come out, framing is inspected, plumbing is updated, and any moisture issues are addressed. We bring our own dust containment, drop cloths, and tools — homeowners stay home, the rest of the bathroom (toilet, vanity, floor) stays usable, and we clean up before we leave each day. Day two is finish: pan, walls, fixtures, glass door, grab bar, niche, and a final detailed walk-through. You'll have a working shower again by dinner on day two. Some companies advertise one-day installs; we don't, because two days lets us do the framing inspection and plumbing updates without rushing.
A full bathroom remodel — re-doing the floor, vanity, toilet, lighting, and shower at the same time — typically runs $25,000 to $50,000 in the Phoenix West Valley and takes three to six weeks. A tub-to-shower conversion only touches the tub area itself. We don't move the toilet. We don't touch the vanity. We don't redo the floor. That's how we keep most installs to two days and well under $20,000. If your bathroom mostly works and only the tub is a problem, a conversion is dramatically less disruptive and far less expensive than a full remodel.
Included in a Steady & Ready tub-to-shower conversion at $9,500: full tear-out and disposal of the existing tub and surround, framing inspection, mold remediation if needed, new plumbing from floor to valve and shower head, a low-threshold shower pan, 84-inch marble-look composite wall panels, one 24-inch grab bar, one frameless tempered-glass door, one built-in niche, complete clean-up and haul-away, and our workmanship warranty.
Not included by default: any work outside the tub footprint (vanity, toilet, lighting, flooring, paint), curbless or roll-in entries (Haven Custom), additional grab bars beyond the first, fold-down or built-in seats (Haven Custom), dual-control handheld systems (Haven Custom add-on), and full tile installations (Haven Custom). All of these can be added during your in-home consultation; Melissa will price them transparently before any work starts.
Steady & Ready is the right pick for most homeowners. It's the package the majority of our neighbors land on. You get a complete walk-in shower with senior-safe details (low-threshold pan, grab bar at the valve, easy-open frameless glass door, easy-clean composite walls), and the price is honest and predictable.
Haven Custom is the right pick when you have a specific accessibility need or design vision: a wheelchair user who needs a roll-in entry, a homeowner who wants seated showering with a built-in seat and dual-control handheld, a custom grab bar layout that wraps the entry plus the valve, or a premium finish like full Calacatta or Cristallo composite walls and matte black hardware. Haven Custom builds are quoted individually based on what you want, and they still install in two days once we're on site.
We give every Arizona homeowner a free in-home consultation. A real person — usually Melissa or a senior team member — comes to your home, measures the alcove, looks at your plumbing, listens to what you actually want, and writes you a clear, fixed-price quote. There's no sales pitch, no high-pressure close, and no fake "today only" discount. The quote is good as written, and we don't move forward until you've had time to think about it.
The consultation is the only way to get an accurate price. Bathrooms are too varied to quote sight-unseen. We've learned that even when two homeowners have what looks like the same alcove, hidden plumbing or framing differences can change the price by hundreds of dollars. So rather than guess online, call us at (623) 363-0502 and we'll get a consultation on the calendar within the week.
