We trade that tub for a walk-in shower designed around safer entry, better grip, and easier cleaning — without tearing out the rest of the bathroom. A full tear-out of the old tub down to the studs, a framing inspection (with mold remediation if needed), fresh plumbing from floor to valve, a brand-new low-threshold pan, 84-inch marble-look composite wall panels, a 24-inch grab bar installed into solid blocking, a frameless tempered-glass door, a built-in niche, and complete clean-up and debris haul-away. We also handle disposal of the old tub.
Two days, on site. Demo day is the loud day — the old tub and surround come out, plumbing is updated, and any framing or moisture issues get addressed. Day two is the quiet day — pan, walls, fixtures, glass, grab bar, niche, and final clean. You will have a working shower again by dinner on day two.
